The neighborhood eyesore is on the market

The ugliest house I've yet seen in Eastie is up for sale! It's near the corner of Marion and Saratoga, adjacent to the Barnes School. On the inside this place may be a palace, but outwardly it's nasty and pre-fab looking. I can only hope that whoever buys this eyesore will do some serious work to make the exterior less box-like. It would be a good location for a small greenspace. Tear that mofo down!

Thanks, maggie. I love the Barnes School building. It's monolithic and very weirdly placed. I'm so glad they're doing something with it, it's very hard to believe that it was left vacant and rotting for 30 years. Lord only knows what goodies they found inside, and the gobs of money that's needed to redo the whole place.

Incidentally, someone did buy this ugly mofo of a building, and they've done absolutely nothing to it. I'd be embarrassed to own or live in a building like this. Now there's a very noisy A/C hanging SIDEWAYS out the front window. I hate to say it, but it's pretty ghetto. I think the house was selling for close to $500K, which is pretty outrageous in my opinion.
