I've lost my edge to the cool kids

Can't a guy sweep in peace? I guess this is what celebrity is all about. I wonder if he'll have a mob with him all day long.

I'm finding that the older I get, the more I appreciate Starbucks coffeehouses. I think I've lost my edge. My moment of zen for the day was sitting in one of their comfy chairs, listening to the Smiths tune ("William...") they were playing off of their 80s comp. I am their target demographic, and they've got me.

Although I didn't buy anything big this weekend for the Tax-Free Extravaganza, I did manage to get to Goodwill to do my fall shopping. Yes, I've had it with summer, I say bring on the crackling leaves underfoot, cool breezes, and crackling fireplaces. This fall's theme: flannel! And that will be the winter theme, as well. Over the next week I'll be divesting myself of my many, many unneeded clothes. I should just have a sidewalk sale, but it's easier to take my junk to Goodwill

Belle Isle Marsh was nice yesterday, though I'm wondering if there are interesting birds besides egrets that reside there. Mainly what I see are starlings (at least I think they're starlings) and egrets, and I'm sure there must be other species of bird hiding in the tall grass.

My garden is growing like mad, and the only flowers which have shown no signs of blossoming are the Monks Hood and the Mullein Rose Campion. I've had several harvests, and there are at least a couple more squashes, and tons more beans...but still no broccoli. I wonder what's up with the broccoli?
